Meet the Team
I’m Ewan. I hold a BSc in Arboriculture and have been working in the industry for 10 years. I was born with a damaged heart valve and had my first surgery at 6 months. In 2013 I had a valve replacement after a serious illness and wasn’t sure what the future would hold. I had always wanted to be a tree surgeon, but it seemed unlikely at this point. I was fortunate enough to be enrolled on a cardiac rehabilitation programme and regained full fitness, I was then delighted when my doctors told me I was now able to pursue this career. I spent 3 years in university studying a degree in Arboriculture and have worked as a tree surgeon and consultant before setting up “The Tree Folks” in 2020.
I’m Elliot. I am a qualified tree surgeon with a background in forestry and have been in the industry for 14 years. My Great Grandad was a horse logger and my Grandad worked with him as a boy. I grew up with my Grandad and he instilled in me a love trees that has never left. I started work aged 16 and have had a variety of jobs in the industry including production forester and lead climbing arborist. I also have a real interest in the machinery and its history, I have a collection of over 20 vintage chainsaws that I like to keep running! Like Ewan, I have always wanted to run my own business but wasn’t sure if I could.
If you have any questions why not get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you!
